- Avarakkai-6 pieces
- 1/2 cup Dhoor dhal
- 1 Big onion
- 1 Tomatoes
- 1/2 teaspoon of Turmeric
- 1 teaspoon of Chilli powder(home-made)
- little Tamarind
- Pinch of asofetida
- 2 tablespoon of Oil
- 1 tablespoon of Mustard
- 1 tablespoon of Fenugreek
- 1/2 teaspoon of cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon of Urid
- 1 tablespoon Curry powders
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- Some curry leaves
- 2 cups of water.
Method
- Cut Avarakkai
- Dice the Onion & Tomatoes
- Boil the Dhoor Dahal with turmeric,and water.(use the pressure cooker for 3 vessel)
- In water add tamarind, Chilli powder & salt then mix well.
- Heat the oil in a frying fan
- Add Mustard ,Fenugreek,Cumin,Urid& Curry leaves.
- Add Onion & Fry well then add Avarakkai
- Later add the Tomatoes
- Add tamarind mixture
- Add the boiled Dhoordhal
- Now Sambar is ready
