Masalai Seeyam
Ingredient
- 1 cup jasmine rice (pacha arsi)
- 3/4 cup urid dal (white).
- Soak both for one hour.
- 1 tablespoon salt.
- 1 big onion.
- Some curry leaves.
- 1 tablespoon of mustard seed.
- Sufficient oil for frying (2 cups)
- 1/2 teaspoon of white pepper powder.
Method
- Wash the soaked rice & urid dhal
- Grind them to smooth in a wet grinder
- Add the salt & white pepper powder.
- Chop the onion into small pieces
- Heat the oil
- Add mustard seeds & curry leaves
- Then add onion and cook until it is tender.
- Cool the onion for minutes.
- Add this onion into the dough and mix well.
- Heat the oil in a deep frying pan
- Once the oil is heated, use a tablespoon to scoop the dough
- Fry it in the oil till golden brown
- Serve it warm with chutneys of your choice.
